The Second Working Conference of Kenya Anti-Doping International Cooperation Program Convened Successfully.

To help Kenya found its National Anti-Doping Organization as soon as possible, WADA, ADN, CHINADA and Kenya’s Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts signed a cooperation agreement this January for joint promotion of Kenya Anti-Doping work. The second working conference of Kenya Anti-Doping International Cooperation Program was convened in Oslo, Norway on June 9-12, 2015, and representatives of the parties concerned and IAAF special representatives (about 20 persons) attended this conference. WANG Xinzhai, Minister of CHINADA Legal affairs and Investigation Department, represented CHINADA to attend this conference. The conference is presided over by ADN CEO Erik Solheim.

At the conference, Minister Arero of Kenya’s Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts emphasized that the government of Kenya pays high attention to the program, gives strong support at the governmental level and hopes that the Anti-Doping work will be carried out in Kenya with the help of ADN and CHINADA. Newly-founded ADAK Chairman Waweru introduced that since ADAK was formerly founded on January 30, 2015, the up-to-date progresses of Kenyan Anti-Doping work include, but not limited to, establishment of ADAK board of Ministers, appointment of CEO, drafting of Anti-Doping regulations, and preparation of budget.WANG Xinzhai, Direcctor of CHINADA Legal Affairs and Investigation Department, introduced the establishment process, responsibilities and internal organization structure of CHINADA, as well as Chinese practice and experience in the fields of biological passport development condition, testing plan preparation, registered testing pool and whereabouts information declaration. ADN representative introduced the organizational structure of ADN, doping risk assessment of sports events, doping control officer training, result management etc.

The conference also clarified the assignment of ADAK, and the third working conference is due to be held in Kenya in December, 2015.
