A celebration of Anti-Doping Norway’s (ADNO’s) 20-Year Anniversary and the Institute of National Anti-Doping Organizations (iNADO) International Seminar was successfully hosted on 7-8 June, 2023 in Oslo with participation of over 80 national stakeholders and guests from more than 30 countries and organizations. Dr. Zhan Hui, Deputy Director General of China Anti-Doping Agency (CHINADA) and other two representatives attended the seminar. 

The Anniversary Seminar was dedicated to the Guiding Principles for the Future of Anti-Doping: Sharing best practices from the national level and identifying possible avenues for strengthening the follow-up of the Guiding Principles. 

Dr. Zhan was invited to deliver a speech at the seminar on Provincial Anti-doping Organizations (PADOs) Play an Important Role in the Pursuit of Clean Sport in China, in which he shared the experience of how CHINADA has promoted and enhanced PADOs’ capability, which was widely acknowledged by the participants. In his speech, Dr. Zhan first briefly introduced the history of CHINADA and the good relationship between CHINADA and iNADO & ADNO. As he pointed out, CHINADA has taken a firm attitude and strict measures towards doping. Meanwhile, there also have been challenges encountered by CHIANDA, including a huge population of athletes, a wide landscape across the country, imbalanced provincial development, etc. Facing all these challenges, CHINADA established and improved the “Win Clean Medals” long-term anti-doping governance system during 2018 to 2022, developed “Six-Step Strategy”, released the “Model of Best Practice for Provincial Anti-doping Work”, and strengthened the link between CHINADA and PADOs. The anti-doping work of CHINADA has witnessed great progress with the building of this organization system in the past 5 years.

On the Anti-Doping Norway’s 20-Year Anniversary Celebration, Dr. Zhan extended warmest congratulations and conveyed best wishes to ADNO on behalf of CHINADA. He expressed that CHINADA and ADNO enjoyed a longstanding cooperation which had gone through nearly 30 years. With the Bilateral Cooperation Agreement, both sides cooperated in several key areas including testing, education, innovation, and personnel exchanges. In the near future, the cooperation between CHINADA and ADNO will go wider, deeper and further with joint efforts, which will finally contribute to the global anti-doping development. After the seminar, Dr. Zhan and other representatives visited the ADNO office.
